Whilst yesterday’s weather was sunshine and blue skies, today’s weather turned rainy and cold, which is perfectly fine by me, I am a sucker for these misty days.

I had a jam-packed schedule today, but thankfully it was Shane’s day off and so he was able to help the kids with their school work for some of the day and chill out with them for the rest. Thankfully this is part of the balance of it all. This glorious view is from the balcony where I was running Kids Ministry this afternoon {which my kids are a part of}.

I was attending a conference today, Β and so we started our day a little earlier than usual. This flexibility is so good for us all. We started our morning devotions and reading over breakfast. I L.O.V.E. this time with the kids reading God’s word, their faith is growing and we are going deeper each day with our conversation and their understanding is developing.

We then spent some time reading together. I am spending a lot of time with RJ in the morning reading and he is progressing really well, his sounds are coming together with greater fluency and particularly his confidence to have a go is increasing. The bigger two happily lie on their bed or a beanbag and enjoy the quiet time of being immersed in their favourite book. It’s such a peaceful and calming way to start the day.

They did their normal schoolwork and as I was leaving for the conference I left them some work to do for their project. Each week this term we are going to look at a country of their choice, they have to do some research to present to the family and we can immerse ourselves in the culture for the week cooking their food, reading books from their chosen country and creating some artwork. Today I left out all the different travel and atlas books we had, and their task was to look through and decide on the countries they wanted to research.

On my drive today I kept seeing cockatoos all over the grass on the side of the road, picking up seeds that had fallen in the rain. They were all wet and I couldn’t resist pulling over to take a photo of them on my way home.
