Yesterday began as it should wiht Milkshakes at the beach. Perfect for a day off with the kids and some time to make sure my hair smells of salt, the hallmark of a great day off.

The swell was big yesterday and so there were lots of surfers at the beach which I always think makes it more fun.

Beauty and wonder everywhere, out in Earth’s playground and soaking up the sunshine and good vibes.

The boys explored the rock pools and swam in the pools.

Whilst little Minnie had her time to relax and swim chatting to new friends.

This week she even had a go at swimming off the diving blocks.

The boys however just chose to run the boardwalk at the same time.

Once we were finished swimming in the pool and getting used to the water it was time for some wave fun between the flags. My kids lost it with excitement and once again it took forever for them to leave the water to go home. On the way up the big sand hill to the car, LJ said than you so much for taking us mum this is so fun.

We said Goodbye to our old mate and went home to clean up before heading out to go shopping for camp and more books. LJ is going away this weekend with the youth Ministry of our church so we had to make sure we had all we needed, including stuff for the little ones who are going to miss him. Minnie got a few new books and finished one the same day!

In the evening we had our canadian friend coming over for dinner and so for school today we decided to research the thanksgiving traditions and cook a feast for him. {It turns out Canadian Thanksgiving is earlier, whoops! A for effort though}. We made an Apple Pie for Dessert.

We also made an American Sweet Potato Casserole for Dinner, an Apple Salad because it is hot over here and all the other trimmings. We practiced the art of thankfulness and prayed together before we ate. I have to admit in this season of our life it is pretty easy to find much to be thankful for, which is not lost on me I am so incredibly grateful. In terms of learning it was a fun way to engage with American History and keep preparing for our trip next year.

To all my friends on the other side of the world, Happy Thanksgiving, what a grand tradition you have, thank you for sharing.

Lots of Love x
